The Enfield Cycle Company built their first motorcycle in 1901 and by 1948 had designed and assembled the first Enfield Bullet. This model was quite advanced for its day having a 346 cc overhead valve engine with an aluminum head and both front and rear suspension. Since then the Royal Enfield Bullet has become the most durable motorcycle design in history and is still produced in India to this very day.
